LEADERSHIP IN COMMUNITY-BASED CONSERVATION - A certificate course

Leadership in Community-based Conservation (LCC) is a certificate course, which trains conservation professionals in participatory biodiversity conservation in critical ecosystem landscapes across the globe. The programme explores and analyses multimodal conservation strategies used in the Western Ghats by AERF (Applied Environmental Research Foundation) in the past two decades, and then extrapolating the learnings to create replicable models of community-based conservation. LCC employs experiential learning methodologies through various on-site exercises, supplementing it with the study of in-house failure and success reports. Through this, LCC aims to help conservation stewards assimilate and articulate simple and effective strategies to deal with the various global conservation challenges.
